Qualifications

The minimum qualifications to hold an office are:

  1. United States Citizenship
  2. At least 18 years of age
  3. May not have been convicted of a felony in any court in the United States unless pardoned of the conviction.
  4. Satisfy residency requirement for specific office. 
    • For Aldermanic candidates: A qualified elector of the City of Glendale and of the Aldermanic District, and actually residing in the district at the time of election. Wis. Stat. §62.09 (2)(a).
    • For Mayoral candidates: A qualified elector of the City of Glendale, and an actual resident of the City of Glendale at the time of election. Wis. Stat. §62.09 (2)(a).

*A qualified elector is defined in Wis. Stat. §6.02 as having resided in the election district for at least 28 consecutive days before an election at which they offer to vote, and who is not disqualified by virtue of one or more of the impediments described in §6.03, Wis. Stats.
