Brush and Yard Waste Collection
You must have your yard waste out by 7:00 AM on your garbage collection day. We cannot guarantee pick-up if placed out after 7:00AM on your collection day. The 2026 collection begins March 23 for B week and March 30 for A week.

Yard Waste includes:
- Leaves
- Tree limbs or branches that shall not exceed four (4) inches in diameter or more than four (4) feet in length
- Brush or vegetative matter resulting from landscaping maintenance.
Yard Waste is picked up bi-weekly. Please see the Yard Waste Collection Map to determine your collection week. Yard Waste must be out before 7:00 AM on the day of your regular garbage pick-up. Collection begins March 24 for A week and March 31 for B week.
John's Disposal (the City's refuse collector) will collect Yard Waste on your collection week starting the week of March 24 and ending the week of November 10, 2025. Residents will not have to call it in. Residents with questions about the program may contact John's Disposal at (262) 473-4700 or visit the office at johnsdisposal.com.
- Residents can place Yard Waste at the curb for pick-up. The Yard Waste collection program is not a tree removal service.
- Yard waste must be in compostable paper bags or containers 32 gallons or smaller, clearly marked as yard waste, and weigh no more than 60 lbs. If it is not in either a container or compostable paper bags, it MUST be bundled.
- Grass clippings will be collected ONLY if it's placed in 32-gallon containers and does not exceed 50 lbs when wet and compacted.
- YARD WASTE MIXED WITH TRASH WILL BE REJECTED.
- Extensive landscaping projects performed by outside contractors will not be included in the collection. Dirt, sod, landscape timbers, construction lumber, rocks, concrete, tree stumps, brush, and garbage are NOT INCLUDED in these collections.
- Yard Waste must be placed at the edge of the road, curb, or alley (the same location as garbage pick-up) abutting your property only, not extending onto pavement.
- There is no limit on properly prepared and placed materials.
- Offer to friends and neighbors for firewood
- Put a “Free Wood” sign on the pile (maximum size of sign cannot exceed 4 square feet)
- Contract with a private tree contractor
- Hire a private tree contractor to grind the stump
