Property Owner Responsibilities

Within 24 hours of a completed snowfall, property owners are responsible for the shoveling and de-icing of sidewalks and curb ramps for the handicapped bordering their properties.

Plowing & Dumping Regulations

City Ordinances prohibit the plowing or dumping of snow on any public street, alley, or public property, or upon the property of another, without the express permission of the owner of the property.

Penalties

Failure to clear sidewalks within the allotted time will cause the City to clear them with all costs and fees being charged to the property owner or management.

City Snow Removal Procedures

This policy sets general guidelines, but the policy must remain flexible and take into consideration variable conditions such as wind, extreme temperatures, timing, duration, and moisture content. Please visit here for our snow removal policy.

Trash Collection

As a reminder, residents should place garbage cans at a safe distance up the driveway during the snow season so the cans are not hit by snowplows or snow load from the plows during plowing operations. Any garbage cans that are placed in the road may be hit, and it will be the responsibility of the homeowner to replace them if damaged.
