Temporary Class B License

Temporary Class "B"/"Class B" Retailer's Licenses may be granted and issued only to (secs. 125.26(6): 

  • Bona fide clubs, whether incorporated or not, which own, lease, or occupy a building or portion thereof used exclusively for club purposes, which is operated solely for a recreational, fraternal, social, patriotic, political, benevolent or athletic purpose but not for pecuniary gain and which only sells alcohol beverages incidental to its operation.
  • State, county, or local fair associations, or agricultural societies.
  • Churches, lodges, or societies that have been in existence for at least 6 months prior to the date of application. 
  • Posts of veterans organizations.
  • Local chambers of commerce organized under ch. 181, Wis. Stats. or a similar civic or trade organization organized under ch. 181, Wis. Stats., to promote economic growth and opportunity within a local geographical area.

Application must be filed, in writing, for each event, on Form AB-220; as well as form AB-100 for the individual named in Part B of Form AB-220.

Additional Fee

$15.00 background investigation report.

Duration

The day or consecutive days that the specified event is in progress. The City of Glendale may issue up to 20 licenses to the same licensee for a single event if each license is issued for the same date and time. (sec. 125.51(10)(b), Wis. Stats.) Not more than 2 wine licenses may be issued to any club, county, or local fair association, agricultural association, church, lodge, society, chamber of commerce, or similar civic or trade organization, or veterans' post in any 12-month period.
